Approximately 20 people per talk, 5 x talks during the week. I estimate about 50 people.
Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
The objective was to increase awareness about neuroscience, psychology and mental health for the general population of El Salvador, and more importantly, to make this information available in Spanish.
For this purpose, I organized 5 talks during the brain awareness week. On each talk, a Salvadorean neuroscientist, psychologist or neurologist presented a symposium on a topic of their choice to the general public via Zoom.

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
No benefits for the institution, since the event was held virtually for an audience in a different country (El Salvador) from the one in which the institution I’m employed is located (Norway).
Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:
1) Start early. I started about 2.5 months in advance, but even getting people to agree and to set aside time for a virtual event did not seem enough. For next year’s event, I will start with 6 months in anticipation.
2) Have a well-defined media strategy and identify specific people or institutions that would be willing to collaborate and especially, to spread the word about the event.
