Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
Invited local High schools to visit campus and attend a lecture on muscle electrophysiology prior to a lab tour with activities including handling actual human (cadaveric) brains. Theme this year was activity.Second year Dentistry university students volunteered to host stations where they talked to the high school groups about the role the brain has in activity - such as muscle contractions and sensory homunculus. Feedback was very positive and schools seemed to appreciate the more active stations where the students could engage with the content more.
