Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

1. At the first day we organized an special program for high school students that was done in 3 parts: a) Presentations and video clips about brain neuroanatomy b) presentation of some behavioral research methods c) presentation of stereotaxic surgery method on lab. animals (rats) 2. At second day of program we organized 3 lectures and a round table for University students and other general audiences: a)1st lecture title: Introducing Cognitive Sciences b) 2nd lecture: Brain Evolution c) 3rd lecture: Introducing brain mapping d) The final program that was very interesting for audience was about: Mind-Body Problem: in this section of program we had very serious challenges from Biological & psychological points of views We think that first day program was very interesting and exciting for high school students because they saw for the first time primary and important basic research methods in the field of brain researches In the second day that was planned for university students we had opportunity to present very interesting field of brain and sciences: Cognition, evolution and mapping (imaging). Moreover, in the round table part of the program that was planed a serious challenge between a neurophysiologist (as a monist) and a psychologist (as a dualist) there was a lot of discusses and questions between specialists and audience.

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?

One of the most immediate outcomes and benefits for us was attraction of a lot of intelligent students that were interested to brain science and neuroscience field of study and research. Also,The high schools directors asked us to continue and repeat such a programs for their students.
