Event Description:

In the era of relationships and communication that we are experiencing, there is a lot of talk, but often in a not entirely precise way, of empathy. Neuroscience has shown that in our brain there are automatic and immediate recognition mechanisms, which trigger regardless of our will and allow us to recognize and understand the emotions of others. But neurobiologically how do they work? Which areas of the brain are activated, and why? Can empathy be conditioned by the culture we live in? And can it be developed?

Nell’era delle relazioni e della comunicazione che stiamo vivendo si parla molto, ma spesso in modo impreciso, di empatia. Le neuroscienze hanno dimostrato che nel nostro cervello esistono meccanismi di riconoscimento automatici e immediati, che scattano a prescindere dalla nostra volontà e ci consentono di riconoscere e comprendere le emozioni altrui. Ma come funzionano, dal punto di vista neurobiologico? Quali aree del cervello si attivano, e perché? L’empatia può essere condizionata dalla cultura in cui viviamo? E può essere sviluppata?
