About This Event
The BAW “Power of Genes” provides cutting-edge knowledge about influence of genes on the characteristics of the brain. Based on modern scientific data, the following issues will be discussed: the impact of genome vs environmental factors on individuality of the brain (Day 1), the degree of genes’ contribution to a variety of psychological and psychophysiological traits (Days 2, 4), genetic causes of brain diseases, and genetically determined features in treatment of mental disorders (Day 5). Lectures of “University Saturday for schoolchildren” (Day 6) will cover aspects of the main topic that are important for a school audience. Since BAW will be conducted in a remote format, we diversify the lectures and workshops by virtual excursions to research laboratories (Day 3) and exhibitions (Day 7).
